Topics of Interest

Practice and Relevance in Developing Knowledge and Wisdom

In the light of a 'practice turn' in management theory, we seek innovative papers that enable bridging gaps between Theory and Practice. What and how we apply theories will affect opportunities and lives of people in both developing and developed regions. The practitioner has a logic of his or her own. How can theories be developed that accommodate this practical logic and how can these theories be made relevant to their local conditions and cultures. ICABR is a multi/inter-disciplinary conference focusing on applied business and development research and emphases the prospects of new ideas, methods and their application in supporting the development of positive social and economic values.
The conference therefore seeks stimulating papers that provoke thoughts and share and extend knowledge, practice, and techniques. Analytical and empirical papers are both welcome. Potential areas of interest include - but are not limited to:

  • Economic Development & Globalization
  • World Financial and Economic Crisis & Impacts, Lessons and Prospects for the Future
  • Business Research Methods & Teaching-related issues
  • Growth & Innovation
  • Sustainable Development & Resource Management
  • Business Law & Ethics & Social Responsibility
  • Accounting & financial management
  • Public Administration & Regional Development
  • Rural Development & SME Development
  • Environmental Resources & Potential/Limits to Economic Development
  • Management science & Strategic, Operational, Production Management
  • International Business & Management
  • Tourism & Hospitality Management
  • Food & Agribusiness
  • Innovative Business Models & Organizational Change
  • Capital Resources & Financing Entrepreneurship
  • Consumer Behavior , Marketing & Logistic Management
  • Information Science and Technology,  Business Information Systems and E-Business
  • Human Resources & Healthcare management, Human Resource management, Education
  • ASEAN, Indigenous and Local  Management Studies
  • Other issues related to the economic, social, political, and technical factors that influence decisions that support value creation in social and economic markets.

With these topics, we would like to cover all economic, social, political, and technical factors that influence decision-making aimed at value creation in the social and economic field.
Thus, any paper corresponding to this broadly conceived theme of the conference would be welcome.
